A lot has happened in the craft beer industry over the last month, and we’ve covered it and tried out best to keep up with all the news on the show. Now we’re compiling it all in one place for you all to reference. We will be updating this post as previously TBD taproom openings are announced and as the new alcohol laws are settling into place.
Craft Brewers Association of Oklahoma explains “The Real End of Oklahoma's Prohibition”
We brought Shea Gillock, Executive Director of the Craft Brewers Association of Oklahoma, back on the show to help us navigate the changes to alcohol laws in what has been called “The Real End of Oklahoma's Prohibition” and how these changes specifically affect Oklahoma’s craft beer industry. Listen in below and check out Shea’s guest blog on the topic!
Vanessa House Beer Company
We kicked off our beertober minisode series a bit early in September with the guys from Vanessa House Beer Company! We’ve been fans of theirs since their home brewing days when they first started pouring at local events. We followed them with their move to the Brewers Union and are so excited for them to be launching on their own. Their taproom was still TBD when the episode came out, but now we know they are having their grand opening Saturday, October 27 at 11 a.m. We are so excited for them and cannot wait to finally have a beer in their place. Listen back to their episode below.
Angry Scotsman Brewing
Another soon-to-be Brewers Union alum, Angry Scotsman Brewing is also opening a taproom and brewery of their own in the next few weeks. Dates were TBD when the episode came out and are still TBD, but we will be sure to update you as soon as we know more! The Brewers Union is actually how we were introduced to Angry Scotsman, both the beer and Ross himself. We’re definitely fans now and can’t wait to visit them at 704 W Reno Ave.!
Speaking of Brewers Union…
Here’s a little throw back to our episode from February 2018 with Brad Stumph all about the Brewers Union! The interview starts at 37:40, check it out!
Now back to the new stuff. We interviewed Patrick Lively and Nick Williams this month about Lively Beerworks, the newest brewery to launch here in OKC! They have already taken over taps across the city and had great turn outs for their first few events, plus they already have plans for a taproom and brewery of their own. They are just getting started, but we cannot wait to see where these guys go.
Elk Valley Brewing Co.
That’s all for now folks!
This is what we have so far, however this will be a living blog post with lots of updates. So bookmark it and check back often for opening dates, law references and maybe even another interview!
